Updates for the Normacot, Lightwood area this week, fly tipping, car seized and school talk.
Monday 5th October 2026: Staffordshire police attended the Alexandra Junior school and did a road safety talk to some year groups about seatbelt safety and the dangers of not wearing a seatbelt. Learning what the consequences can be. After this, Staffordshire police did a seatbelt operation outside the Alexandra school and during this time 3 tickets were given out to people for not wearing their seatbelt.
Tuesday 6th October 2026: Recently we had a lot of issues of fly tipping in the alleyway of Buccleuch Road where household materials have been dumped in the alleyway next to a wall. This had increased from last time. Whilst on patrol today I have attended Buccleuch Road alleyway, and the cleaning team from the council have attended and have clean the alleyway. I encourage everyone to work together in the area to keep the alleyway always cleared as emergency vehicles might need to access them as well as, children playing in the alleyways. Let’s work as a community to keep our alleyways tidy. Should anyone see anyone fly tipping in the area please report this to the council on their website. Tuesday 6th October 2026: Reports have been made to police about a vehicle with no Insurance, MOT and tax in the Lightwood area. Staffordshire Police attended and seized the vehicle from the area.
